Your privacy matters. This policy explains what Imi collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

The waitlist on this site
Before launch, this site keeps a waitlist. It collects your email address, the goal you pick if you choose one (it's optional), and which form you used to sign up. We use it only to tell you when Imi launches. Every email has an unsubscribe link, so you can leave the list any time.
What we collect
Account info name, email, and any profile details you choose to add.
Preferences dietary restrictions, allergies, kitchen equipment, cooking habits, macro targets, and the meal plans you create. This is the data that makes Imi personalized.
Activity which recipes you save, swap, or cook, plus the grocery and prep sessions you complete. We use this to improve suggestions and to make the app feel intelligent over time.
Device info basic technical details (device model, OS version, app version, crash reports) so we can diagnose issues and keep things working.
We do not collect health data from HealthKit, Google Fit, or similar services unless you explicitly connect them.
Why we use your data
To run the core features of Imi building plans, tracking macros, generating grocery lists, syncing across your devices. To send service-related communications (account confirmations, important updates). To improve the product through aggregate, de-identified analytics.
What we share
We don't sell your data. We share information with vetted service providers only when needed to operate the app — for example, our authentication provider, cloud hosting, error reporting, and analytics tools. These providers handle data on our behalf and are contractually required to protect it.
AI features Ask Imi, voice notes, recipe imports, food photos, meals you describe, and plan generation — send what you give them, plus the preferences a plan needs, to AI models from Anthropic (Claude) and Amazon (Nova), run on Amazon Web Services through Amazon Bedrock. We ask for your permission before the first time, and you can turn it off in Settings → AI & your data. Amazon Bedrock doesn't use this data to train models. We also share information when we're required by law or when needed to protect Imi, our users, or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, with limited exceptions where retention is legally required (such as billing records).
Your rights
You can access, correct, export (Settings → Download my data), or delete (Settings → Delete account) your account data at any time from the app. If you're in a jurisdiction that grants additional rights — such as the GDPR in the EU/UK or CCPA in California — you can exercise those rights by emailing us.
Children
Imi is not designed for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.
Security
We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, so we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and keep your device locked.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Imi after a change means you accept the updated policy.
